Spoilers - you know, if you haven't seen the Season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead.

The Walking Dead houses some of the best special effect artists in Hollywood. The gory hit drama asks these pros to bloody up zombies and sculpt horrifying injuries on a weekly basis - but their biggest job came last weekend. The Season 7 premiere of The Walking Dead had the artists do some seriously gnarly make-up transformations for Negan's victims.

And, now, Greg Nicotero is sharing two behind-the-scenes photos of Glenn in full make-up.

The executive producer uploaded the pictures of Glenn to his Instagram the other day, and Nicotero was not shy to show-off the character's injuries. The first image shows Glenn with his "head pit prior to [his] hair piece being applied." The producer credit the staff who brought the NSFW make-up to life, but most fans are focusing on Nicotero's image than his words.

If you look at the image, you can clearly see what kind of damage Lucille is able to inflict on her victims. Negan's barb-wire bat cracked open Glenn's skull like it was a piñata, leaving fans with an inside look at his brains. The massive hit also dislodged part of Glenn's nasal cavity and made his eye protrude from its socket.

The second image that Nicotero uploaded adds more gore to the first. Fans can see Steven Yeun smiling manically as blooded now drips down his face. The actor sits with a now-completed look as his hair piece has been set and blood has been shed.

"Greatest make up fx team around," Nicotero gushed, no doubt proud of the crew who made Glenn's death look as gruesome as it was in the comics.

After all, the character's on-screen death practically mirrored his comic book demise. A side-by-side comparison of the deaths show how closely The Walking Dead followed its source material in its killing of Glenn. Not only were Glenn's injuries canon compliant, but Negan and his jeering words were also spot-on.

If anything, Negan was more vicious in real life than on the page. The demented villain openly mocked both Glenn and Abraham before he bludgeoned them to death. And, of course, Glenn's last words to his wife Maggie were more emotionally charged than in The Walking Dead #100.

On the show, Glenn called out to his wife and told her that he will find her. Talk about heart-wrenching.

Blood added. Greatest make up fx team around!

Of course, the brutal nature of the Season 7 premiere sat poorly with some fans. Plenty of viewers took to social media to pan the show's graphic violence and the Parent's Television Council also condemned the bloody affair. But, as always, the cast and crew of of the show were quick to defend the episode's carnage.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 p.m. ET on AMC.
