The newest Wonder Woman trailer finally dropped and managed to contain a lot within its 2 minute and 25-second confines.
From a closer look at Diana’s homeland Themyscira, including Steve Trevor’s arrival and the ensuing battle that takes place on the beaches, to bigger glimpses Doctor Poison, there’s a lot to process. To help you with that difficult task, we’ve included our top 5 moments of the newest footage.

Before she was Wonder Woman, she was Diana, princess of the Amazons, trained to be an unconquerable warrior. Raised on a sheltered island paradise, when an American pilot crashes on their shores and tells of a massive conflict raging in the outside world, Diana leaves her home, convinced she can stop the threat. Fighting alongside man in a war to end all wars, Diana will discover her full powers and her true destiny.
Wonder Woman is directed by Patty Jenkins, written by Allan Heinberg and Geoff Johns, from a story by Heinberg and Zack Snyder, and stars Gal Gadot, Chris Pine, Connie Nielsen, Robin Wright, Lucy Davis, Danny Huston, Elena Anaya, Saรฏd Taghmaoui, Ewen Bremner, Lisa Loven Kongsli and David Thewlis.
Wonder Woman opens in theaters on June 2, 2017.
Steve Trevor Crash Landing On Themyscira
“I used to want to save the world.”
At the beginning of the trailer, we see the lush beauty that is Diana’s homeland, the paradise island of Themyscira. During her narration, we see a plane struck down to the island below, presumably the plane of Steve Trevor (played by Chris Pine).ย
Diana is seen diving into the waters to retrieveย Trevor, and Pine is also seen at lengthย at the makeshift tribunal setup in the main hall in front of Hippolyta. There are times it feels directly lifted from the comics, and that is absolutely a compliment.

Wonder Woman Claiming Her Birthright
At one point about midway through the trailer, Diana is seen speaking to her mother Hippolyta about the plight Trevor’s people and the world outside their paradise, where she says “I cannot stand by while innocent lives are lost.”
It’s here that Diana goes to claim her birthright, the iconic sword and shield from theirย platforms. They don’t show her obtaining the lasso, but there is a shot of her seeing her Wonder Woman costume for the first time, and it’s marvelous.
While it’s unknown if she claims her weapons with Hippolyta’s blessing, seeing her take possession of them is easily one of the best parts of the trailer.

Closer Look At Doctor Poison
While it’s unknown if she is the primary villain, Doctor Poison (played by Elena Anaya) will factor heavily into the film’s plot. Here we get to see a few more glimpses of her and her fractured face.
She’s also seen throwing a bomb towards a building, which explodes in a grand way later in the trailer. The biggest reveal was a globe that contained a lethal poisonous gas. It seemed to crush the lenses of the gas mask inside, and the villain’s specialty is in the realm of toxins, poisons, and gasses, so this should be a big part of turning her into the villain seen in the comics.

An Alleyway Brawl
While Wonder Woman bats away multiple bullets and hits throughout the trailer, perhaps the best deflection is a more personal one, where she deflects a bullet away from Steve Trevor.
As the two walk down an alley, someone springs out and attempts to shoot Trevor, with Diana quickly throwing her arm across him to deflect the bullet. Aside from a nice comedic moment that features him touching her bracelet, scalding himself in the process, this then branches out into a full fight scene with herย against a group of henchmen surrounding her.
ย
The Lasso
Wonder Woman is seen in battle against armies and soldiers throughout the trailer, but there is one sequence that stands out thanks to her infamous lasso.
It’s hard to make out who she is carrying, but at one point she whips up a soliderย into the air and slams him down on the roof of a building. The best part of the lasso is that it glows bright yellow, and doesn’t suffer from the muted color palette seen in previous DC films. In fact, you could say that about the entire film, as beautiful splashes of color are all over the trailer.
So, that’s our top 5 highlights, but make sure to let us know what moments stood out to you!
