Today, Spider-Man fans have never been happier for Brazil’s largest comic-con. The annual event is in full swing, and Sony Pictures brought its own web-swinging vigilante to the event in style. The studio dished out plenty of updates on Spider-Man: Homecoming and even showed exclusive footage from the film to lucky attendees. The special video showed Peter Parker meeting up with Tony Stark’s beloved right-hand man. And, now, Jon Favreau is detailing just how Happy Hogan fits into the upcoming blockbuster.

In a recent interview with CinemaBlend, Favreau took a moment to address today’s footage and whether he’d be a major player in the film. The actor kept quiet, but he did say this about his role: I’m like… I’m looking after him [Peter]. He needs someone to help him out.”

If that’s the case, then it seems like Happy Hogan might have a bigger role than previously expected. When the actor’s involvement with Homecoming was announced, fans believed Favreau would star in a simple cameo, but it appears as if the actor nabbed more screentime than previously expected.

There’s little doubt that Favreau is pleased with a larger role; After all, the actor did gush about Spider-Man when the hero cameoed in Captain America: Civil War.

“I think Spider-Man made me smile every second the character was on the screen,” Favreau said about the hero’s appearance. “I was so pleased with the tone of the film in general, but those sequences specifically, and I just loved the way they introduced the character. I love the version of Tony Stark I saw, especially in those scenes. As somebody who was part of the beginning of the screen persona of Tony Stark, I thought that this was really impressive and a wonderful expansion of that character.”

Later in the interview, Favreau also reflected on filming Homecoming and said it was “a lot of fun.”

“I had a lot of fun on that movie, working with Robert [Downey Jr.] and everything. It was a good time, and I liked the whole gang. It was really terrific,” he explained.
