Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Funko Pops Revealed

It is no secret that 2016 has seen the Power Rangers return in style. The superhero team has been gearing up for their live-action return, and Lionsgate will make that dream a reality next year. The studio is slated to premiere Saban’s Power Rangers next January to thousands of adoring fans, but the franchise’s return is also giving old-school purists reason to celebrate.

Thanks to the Power Rangers‘ surge in popularity, Funko is now preparing to roll out a line of Pop! vinyls inspired by the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers series.

“The mighty morphin fun continues with new Pop!s, Dorbz, Pint Size Heroes, and Pen Toppers from the iconic TV series Mighty Morphin Power Rangers! The new Pop! vinyl series features the Red, White, and Pink Rangers in unique action poses! In addition, be on the lookout for incredible variants and exclusives, like Metallic Pink Ranger and Metallic Red Ranger (feat. ninja coin deco) exclusively at Hot Topic! Or Alpha 5, the Rangers’ faithful robot assistant, only at Walmart!” the Funko site reads.

“The Power Rangers‘ Dorbz figures include special chase versions! Red Ranger and Yellow Ranger both have metallic chase variants, each with a 1 in 6 rarity! You can also collect Rita Repulsa, exclusively at Toys R Us, and a glow-in-the-dark Pink Ranger, only at Walmart! Our newest line of all, Pint Size Heroes, will feature 24 characters to collect, including the Green Ranger and White Ranger as well as Rita Repulsa and Goldar! Lastly, power through your to-do list with the help of all-new power Pen Toppers!”

Saban’s Power Rangers follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat. Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

Saban’s Power Rangers stars Dacre Montgomery as Jason Lee Scott/the Red Ranger, RJ Cyler as Billy Cranston/the Blue Ranger, Becky G as Trini Kwan/the Yellow Ranger, Ludi Lin as Zack Taylor/the Black Ranger, Naomi Scott as Kimberly Hart/the Pink Ranger, Elizabeth Banks as Rita Repulsa, Bill Hader as Alpha 5, and Bryan Cranston as Zordon.

The film is being directed by Project Almanac-helmer Dean Israelite and was written by Ashley Miller and Zack Stentz.

Power Rangers is scheduled for release on January 13, 2017.
