By now not even the haters should be surprised that the Fast and the Furious franchise is a worldwide movie juggernaught, but in case there's still any doubt:

It has been confirmed that at 139M views in its first 24 hours, The Fate of the Furious is the new record holder for that particular milestone, beating out Disney's Beauty and the Beast live-action trailer (127.6). This is only going to be good news for Vin Diesel and the rest of the #F8 (so much easier) cast.

Deadline has the breakdown of factors that led to the trailer gaining so much traction, so fast. Spoiler: A big event with the cast live in Times Square on Sunday, didn't hurt.

In addition to Theron, the series welcomes newcomers Scott Eastwood and Oscar® winner Helen Mirren. The film is directed by F.
