Fans of franchises like Preacher, Fast and Furious, and Prison Break might soon have a new TV show to watch out for.

Neal Moritz, a prolific film and television producer known for his involvement in those series and countless more, is set to develop a television series based off of Talent.

Talent 4

The comic miniseries from Boom! Studios follows Nicholas Dane, the sole survivor of a plane crash who discovers he has absorbed the powers of the plane's other passengers.

The rights to Talent were picked up by Moritz's production company Original Films, as part of their discretionary fund. Moritz will serve as a producer, alongside Boom! executives Ross Richie, Stephen Christie, and Adam Yoelin.

The four-issue series was released in 2006, with a deluxe trade paperback released in 2014. The project was previously in talks to be adapted to a film in 2011. The project was under Universal Studios, and a draft of the script was written by Dr. Horrible's Sing-Along Blog's Zack Whedon. Reports are that the television version of Talent will be entirely different from that previous endeavor.

Boom! has become an integral part of the comic book scene since its founding in 2005. In addition to publishing indie series like Talent and the recent hit Lumberjanes, the company publishes many tie-in titles for franchises such as Mighty Morphin Power Rangers, The Muppets, Adventure Time, and Steven Universe.

This isn't the only Boom! imprint to be making its way onto the screen. A film adaptation of the 2014 thriller graphic novel The Empty Man is set to premiere in 2018, and will star Iron Man 3's James Badge Dale. Adaptations of Mouse Guard and the dark superhero comic Irredeemable are also in development at Fox, where Boom! currently has a first-look deal.

It's unclear if Talent will air on Fox, or will go to Moritz's partner Sony. Fans of the comic will have to wait and see what Talent's fate is as it goes into development.
