Spider-Man: Homecoming is now in theaters, and Marvel fans are overwhelmingly happy with what they got from having Marvel Studios involved with the live-action version of Spider-Man.

However, as Homecoming now enjoys its marathon run through theaters, discussion is turning to some fun speculation about the new roads the films paves, as well as behind-the-scenes matters like how certain pieces of the story came together, who from the cast is dating (squeal!) – and of course, how certain elements of the movie were almost very different.
Case in point with the latter: apparently Star Wars icon Mark Hamill wanted to play The Vulture, the Spider-Man villain that was adapted into live-action for the first time, with Birdman and Batman star Michael Keaton playing the role.
When at the D23 Expo this weekend, Hamill revealed to Rotten Tomatoes during an interview that he had The Vulture pegged as a Marvel villain that he could play, as there aren’t that many Marvel bad guys fit for a “Senior Citizen”:

It was already a thrill seeing a DC Comics movie icon like Keaton playing The Vulture – having a Star Wars icon like Hamill in the role may have been too much geekery overload for hardcore fans. It would’ve been great for Disney, though: the same mold used to make Hamill’s action figures for Star Wars: The Last Jedi could’ve been used for Spider-Man: Homecoming, resulting in:
