The end of the world may never be as much fun as it will be in Thor: Ragnarok.

At least that’s what director Taika Waititi hopes to achieve. Waititi tells ComicBook.com at Comic-Con International: San Diego that he’s hoping to send the audience on a fun-filled adventure when Thor: Ragnarok opens in theaters this November.
“Tonally, it’s fun,” Waititi says. “I wanted to make it an adventure that people could leave the cinema feeling uplifted and feeling like they’ve been on an adventure it’s been fun, and that they’ve been entertained. I just want to entertain people with the film.”
In order to achieve that Waititi attempted to bring out the humorous side of his cast, especially the God of Thunder himself.
“You look at the cast and they’re all beautiful, they’re all talented, they’re all funny, I couldn’t have been luckier with that cast. Chris [Hemsworth] especially. He’s one of the funniest guys I know and we really exploited that, really tapped into that side of him. You’re going to see a version of Thor that’s more fun and, actually I think, the most lovable. A version of Thor that people are going to like.”
The world may be falling apart all around him, but it sounds like Thor will be laughing all the way through the cataclysm of Thor: Ragnarok.
