It's been a couple years since Lucasfilm rolled out another part of its Skywalker Saga, but Star Wars: The Last Jedi waits for no studio. This much-anticipated film is set to premiere this December, and one report suggests fans will be able to buy advance tickets in just a few days.

Not long ago, Furious Fanboys editor Jeremy Conrad reported that both AMC and Regal Cinemas are preparing their websites for Star Wars pre-sales. The chains will be inundated with traffic when the advanced screenings go live, so each company is fortifying its websites before the masses swarm.

Of course, there's been no official confirmation about the ticket sales from either Disney or Lucasfilm. There is no way to verify Conrad's sources, but fans should not be surprised if the pre-sales go live sooner rather than later. After all, Lucasfilm began its advanced sales for The Force Awakens on a similar time-schedule.

Back in 2015, fans learned they would be able to buy pre-sale tickets for the seventh Star Wars film with only a day's worth of notice. The tickets opened to the public on October 19, and The Force Awakens actually hit theaters on December 15. The Last Jedi will share that premiere date as it drops on December 15 on this year, so Lucasfilm is due to start its pre-sales soon.

If Lucasfilm is lucky, the studio may rack up some serious cash from its pre-sales alone. The Force Awakens raked in $100 million for its advanced sales alone, but The Last Jedi may have a harder time living up to that bar. The sequel cannot say it's the first film of a brand-new trilogy, but it does house one thing which fans want to see. The film houses Carrie Fisher's final performance as Leia Organa as the actress completed filming prior to her sudden death. Long-time fans are eager to see the character's appearance in light of the tragedy.

It's hard to imagine Star Wars' next film flubbing with pre-sales, but there is one way Lucasfilm could ensure it makes some big bucks. Fans have been asking for a new trailer of The Last Jedi for some time, so the studio might just drop new footage ahead of its pre-sales to reel moviegoers in.

Star Wars: The Last Jedi premieres in theaters December 15.
