The Walking Dead has had a wide array of zombie actors throughout the years. And as it turns out, a fairly recent walker was pretty personal for one of its cast members.

In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly, Christian Serratos recounted when her boyfriend, New Politics singer David Boyd, appeared as a walker in the Season 7 episode 'The Other Side.'

"David was actually a walker," Serratos, who plays Rosita Espinosa on the hit series, revealed. "It's funny because he looks like a f—ing walker. I think that's how [executive prdoucer Greg Nicotero] and I started talking about it initially. He has just the perfect face for the walker makeup. Like, there are very specific requirements to be a walker, and David had all those requirements, so yeah, he was a walker."

Once it was decided that Boyd would play a walker, Serratos was adamant about sharing the screen with him.

"I was like, well if we're going to have him on the show, I need to kill him," Serratos added. "So he was a walker in the episode with me and Sonequa, and I killed him."

'The Other Side' saw Rosita and Sasha (Sonequa Martin-Green) on a mission to kill Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan). And according to Serratos, it's pretty easy to spot Boyd's cameo on the show.

"It was as we were talking about how we were going to bust into the compound," Serratos explained. "And we were arguing with each other and I'm trying to jumpstart a car and we're walking down this hill. Two walkers come at us, and he's my walker."

While the scene between Serratos and Boyd might not have ended as positively, she says that the behind-the-scenes experience was fun.

"We got some really adorable photos after that scene," says Serratos. "He was really great and I was glad that I was the one to do it."
