When it comes to making full-realized, likable characters, few do it better than Pixar Animation, but not everyone can be likable. Some of their characters are awful by design (like a good villain, for example), while others are just flat-out annoying and probably not on purpose. We'll make sure to differentiate which are which.
Now that The Incredibles 2 is around the corner, we'll soon know if any of their new characters have these qualities, but until then, this list is comprised of everything that's come before - The 10 Worst Pixar Characters!
Who do you think is the worst Pixar character? Drop us a comment and make sure you watch the video at the top of the page to see if we agree with you or not.
10. Chick Hicks
Kicking off our list at No. 10 is Chick Hicks from Cars . While he might be one of the worst characters by default since he's clearly the antagonist, he might have the best ‘stache in all of the Pixar flicks. And it takes a special kind of bravado to be a car with a mustache, but leave it to the great Michael Keaton to pull it off.
9. Heimlich
No. 9 is Heimlich from A Bug’s Life. S orry, but Heimlich is the worst, and you know it. You might be thinking we're wrong about this, but you're remembering this from your time as a child. Have you gone back and re-watched A Bug's Life and not wished someone would step on Heimlich? It's nearly impossible.
8. EVERY Human in Wall-E
No. 8 is a TIE, going to literally EVERY Human in Wall-E. All of them. Seriously, if you can get through this movie and not hate every human being by the end of it, you’re a better person than us.
7. Darla
Darla in Finding Nemo is supposed to be obnoxious, we get that. Obviously they wanted Darla to be a composition of every spoiled, bratty little girl you’ve ever seen in the waiting room at a dentist office, and you know what? They more than succeeded. She's horrible in the kind of way that inspires other people to never have kids, and that's almost impressive.
6. Syndrome
No. 6 is Syndrome from The Incredibles. And while he might be one of the worst, most sinister villains we’ve seen come out of Pixar, don’t be mistaken, he’s awesome at it. The twist of Syndrome originally being Mr. Incredible's #1 fan was a fun origin that served as another reason why The Incredibles was such an original send-up of superhero movies at the time.
5. Disgust
Coming in at No. 5 is Disgust from Inside Out. She's literally the single most annoying trait of every pre-teen girl rolled into one character. How could she not make this list?
4. Randall
No. 4 is Randall from Monsters Inc. After watching Monsters University (the prequel to Monsters), one might surmise why Randall became such an underhanded slimeball. Does that make it better? Nope. Plus, he's voiced by Steve Buscemi , and very few people do slimy better than Steve.
3. Lotso
No. 3 is Lotso from Toy Story 3. The conniving, manipulative bear is about as close to Machiavellian as any Pixar villain has ever got. He seems perfectly friendly at first, if not downright cuddable, but it soon becomes apparent that Lotso is a strawberry-scented purple psycho.
2. Sid
At No. 2 is Sid from Toy Story. This kid is evil incarnate. Anyone who saw Toy Story under the age of 7 was effectively left distraught by this underage psycho destined to one day become a serial killer or a garbageman. One or the other, maybe both, for all we know. Fun fact: Sid cameos in Toy Story 3 and he IS a garbageman. Probably also a serial killer but that wasn't confirmed.
1. Mater
But the worst Pixar character of them all isn’t even a villain, it’s Mater from Cars. A few people love Mater, and he’s admittedly tolerable as a side character, but the guy just. Won’t. Stop. And a little bit of Mater goes a long way. He is easily the most annoying character that Pixar ever cooked up made even worse by the fact that he's voiced by Larry the Cable Guy.
