In the 30-second clip, fans are reintroduced to superheroes like Izuku ‘Deku’ Midoriya and Katsuki Bakugo. The two characters acts as the anime’s leads and are rather volatile rivals. In season one, fans watched as Deku was mercilessly bullied by Katsuki at their old school before the latter boy was gifted a superpower by All-Might, the world’s top hero. However, the two students continued to clash as they entered their new school, and Katsuki floundered thanks to his impenetrable inferiority complex once Deku began to be noticed for his heroic traits.
In the new clip, fans can see footage from the upcoming season of My Hero Academia. The end of the video shows the two characters locked in battle as a crowd of spectators watch them. Katsuki has already ignited his trademark quirk while Deku can be seen on defense, and it looks as if the scene was sourced from the manga’s original ‘Sports Festival’ story arc.
In fact, a slew of artwork was even released to honor the anime’s adaptation of the manga saga. Bandai Namco recently opened a pop-up shop for athletic gear inspired by My Hero Academia to celebrate the upcoming release, and the shop’s adverts features the stars of the anime in track gear.
Overseen by Bones Studio, My Hero Academia‘s second season will be directed by Kenji Nagasaki. Yousuke Kuroda will oversee and pen its scripts while Yoshihiko Umakoshi serves as chief animation direction. Music will be composed by Yuuki Hayashi. And, most importantly, the entirely of the first season’s cast will be returning along with several new additions. Characters like Mei Hatsume, Itsuka Kendo, Tetsutetsu Tetsutetsu, and more will be added to the superhero anime.
If you are not familiar with My Hero Academia, then you should know the series kicked off in 2014 when Weekly Shonen Jump published Kลhei Horikoshi’s manga. The series was then adapted into an anime in April 2016 and quickly gained popularity.
