The world of anime is a rather diverse place. From sports series to fantasy adventures, audiences can find a show which suits their tastes – even if that preference is questionable.

For years, some onlookers have accused anime of being wholly inappropriate thanks to certain NSFW shows. Things such as fan-service and peeping are at the controversy’s tip, and there are many other shows which delve into even more risquรฉ content. Thanks to Goo, the website has collected votes from a fan poll where audiences were asked to rank which anime series they believed were too hot for TV. And, now, ComicBook is ready to breakdown the results for you.

Yosuga no Sora

Anime has no boundaries, and incest is something fans can find in a variety of shows such as this one. Yosuga no Sora is based on a Japanese visual novel, and it follows Haruka and Sora Kasungano after they are tragically orphaned. In the game, players are able to choose in Haruka winds up with one of his new village’s many girls, and he partakes in sexual relations with them all. However, in the game and anime, there are also undeniable hints at sexual tension between Haruka and his sister Sora. So, really, it should be no surprise to hear that the sibling’s relationship does go beyond platonic at times.

So, I Canโ€™t Play H

If you are looking for an anime that thrives off pervertedness, then this title is the stuff of dreams. The series followed a high school boy Ryosuke after he meets a beautiful girl named Lisara. The woman is a supernatural being called an elite Grim Reaper, and she is looking for a man who has evaded her. To stay in the human world, Lisara makes a contract with Ryosuke. She is allowed to feed off his lecherous spirit in exchange for the boy being able to dream up NSFW thoughts about the girl. However, it seems like he would have done it anyways; Ryosuke just earns guaranteed survival by going in with the deal.

Prison School

Prison School is about as close as ‘acceptable’ anime comes to BDSM without straying into the ero-anime genre. The racy title followed five perverted boys after they are granted exclusive access to one of Tokyo’s most elite all-female academies. When the voyeuristic men are then caught peeping on classmates in the bathroom, they are given an ultimatum: be expelled or stay in the school’s Prison Block for a bit. The boys all choose the latter punishment, leading them to come face-to-face with busty correction officers who love to punish their pupils.

To Love-Ru

If you have been looking for a show featuring a shy high school student and legion of doe-eyed demons, then you may want to binge To Love-Ru. The harem title is popular one in the genre, and it features lots of skin. The story focuses on a boy named Rito who becomes betrothed to a devilish princess from a far-off planet. Over the show’s course, Rito goes from being a nobody to the boy all girls want to date regardless of their home planet. And, for the most part, Rito is okay with it.

Ranma 1/2

In the grand scheme of things, Ranma 1/2 isn’t anything too shocking. The series tells the story of a young boy named Ranma who becomes cursed whilst training in martial arts. The plight makes it so Ranma is turned into a girl whenever he is splashed with cold water. While the show does revel in its ecchi comedy at time, the show is not as graphic as some more contemporary titles. The reason Ranma 1/2 continues to drive controversy today is because of its dating. Rumiko Takahashi first published the story in September 1987 and received its first anime adaptation in 1989. Ranma 1/2 operated against the status quo for that time because of its mature content, and it paved a way for other series to come.
