Last weekend, Attack on Titan made a gory return to anime when Wit Studio unleashed the franchise’s long-awaited second season. The comeback left fans queasy thanks to one very memorable death, but much of that horror was overshadowed by racing adrenaline. The new season of Attack on Titan is already pacing quickly. Wall Rose has already been infested with Titans, the religion surrounding humanity’s wall is looking shadier by the day, and Eren still has a ways to go before he gets a moment to step in the spotlight.

Next week, Attack on Titan’s new episode will continue to rev up the hype as the Survey Corps try to warn residents within the wall about the Titan infestation. Sasha will have a particularly poignant moment as she returns to her hometown to alert citizens, and Eren will form an uneasy alliance with Past Nick to suss out the gap which let the Titans run wild.
The second episode of Attack on Titan’s new season is titled “I’m Home.” Its screenplay was written by Yasuko Kobayashi while Masashi Koizuka did the storyboard. Yoshihide Ibata director with animation directors Aymui Yamada, Miho Kato, and Yuko Yamamoto.
A translated version of episode 27’s synopsis can be read here: “Five hours after the discovery of the Titan, Sasha heads for the northern forest and reaches her hometown village. Rising in the heart of Sasha, a bitter memory with her father [surfaces]. Her hometown after three years is no longer a land where people can live but a new village where Sasha witnesses a spectacular sight. Meanwhile, Eren who is heading to Wall Rose in a hurry, but some of the companions [question why] Pastor Nick is with them. He said that he should check the wall with his own eyes to disclose the secrets which the wall knows.”

If you are not familiar with Attack on Titan, then you should know the popular anime is renowned for its intense action and gritty storylines. The anime follows a boy named Eren Yeager in an alternate world overrun by massive creatures known as Titans.
These mindless beasts have all but wiped out humanity, and mankind is left to cower in fear behind massive walls. When their sanctum is infiltrated by a slew of Titans, Eren and his friends Armin and Mikasa join the military to help eradicate the blood-thirty monsters. But, as they grow older, they learn that the beasts are not what they appear as long-held government conspiracies make themselves known.
