Bandai has released two giant plush hats featuring the most popular characters of the Digimon series. The first is the infamous adorable orange tyrannosaurus known as Agumon. It features a strap that goes around the chin and “covers your cheeks to keep you warm from wind and clod”. Not only is it warm and comfy, but wearing it makes you look as if you are inside the mouth of the the cuddly monster.
The second features a hamster-like creature who has giant bat wings and is more commonly known as Patamon. Unlike the the Augumon hat, this adorable creature sits atop of your head with its entire body. It includes the little arms, legs, and a tail – and that’s not to mention its giant wings flapping in the wind.
Digimon was first created in 1997 and was originally a series of virtual pets, similar to Tamagotchi. The creatures were designed to be cute and memorable, and gained popularity with the first anime Digimon Adventure, and game Digimon World which both released in 1999. Since then, Digimon has become a household name, and held in high regards with other popular creature based animes such as Pokemon.
Bandai’s official details of the item describe when to wear the cute caps:
“It is warm, even at home, at events, parties, etc. If you wear it, you are definitely popular!”
Each hat is priced at 3,996 yen, or $34, and is currently available to order from Bandai’s official website until January 31.
