If you had any hope that Toei Animation would remember its most recent filler arcs, then think again. Before Dragon Ball Super entered its on-going ‘Universal Survival’ arc, fans watched as Goku and Krillin teamed up for the first time in a long while. The friends saw themselves revisit their childhood training days as Goku asked Krillin to fight with him. The intense training match ended with Krillin realizing he still loves to fight – but the hero will apparently forget all that soon enough.

In the most recent issue of Weekly Shonen Jump featured a brand-new synopsis for episode 84. Dragon Ball Super left off last week with Goku and his friends determined to find fighters who could represent Universe 7 at the Tournament of Power. For Goku, his first recruit pass will try to snatch up both Krillin and Android 18. However, the fighter may not be down with joining such a violent event.
You can read up on the episode’s synopsis below:
“Son Goku the Talent Scout: Inviting Kuririn and No. 18”
Kirurin’s comeback as a martial artist?! This couple is Goku’s next scout pick!
How powerful is Goku’s best friend Kuririn these days…?!
Goku and the gang gather teammates to enter the Tournament of Power. The next two picks are Goku’s best friend Kuririn and his wife No. 18! Goku’s unexpected offer comes as a surprise to Kuririn, who’s already retired from the martial arts, but his reply is…?!
Gohan This Week: undertaking a test of strength! In order to gauge Kuririn’s true power, Gohan challenges him to a fight! How does this test of strength turn out? And what does Goku think after watching their battle?!”
It seems Krillin will be a bit hesitant to join up for the tournament, but the fighter can never say no to Goku. As for Gohan, fans are a bit surprised to see the fighter so amped for battle. The usual scholar got heated for the tournament during his exhibition match with Universe 9, and Gohan is eager to get back in fighting shape. Krillin will need to do the same in the short time he has before the tournament gets underway. And Goku?
Well, he’s just going to love watching his son and best friend duke it out.
