Fans are still waiting for Madhouse Studios to announce exactly when One Punch Man will return for a second season, but that doesn’t mean Saitama is totally out of luck. The bald hero may be busy fighting hordes of villains, but he has found time to record some brand-new stories for fans. Earlier today, Bandai Visual announces plans to release four new dramas based on One Punch Man, and they will see the anime’s voice actors reprise their roles.

The first of Bandai’s four CD dramas will be released in September. One Punch Man will have its main voice actors return to voice characters like Saitama and Genos, so fans will get to hear the hero’s dulcet tones yet again.
According to the announcement, each audio volume will include two new episodes which series creator ONE helped create and supervise. The volumes will also each include an episode based on bonus manga from Shueisha’s volumes. So, basically, fans will get some omake audio stories as an add-on.
There are not many details out about the stories which the dramas are covering, but fans know a bit about the first CD. The debut drama will have an episode based on the “200 yen” skit from One Punch Man‘s first volume.
The CDs will also come with some extra audio in the form of music. JAM Project has confirmed it will provide new character songs for each volume, and the first one to get a track will be Saitama. With everything combined, it looks like each episode will last about 40 minutes.

For those unfamiliar with the One Punch Man series, here is a summary of the plot from Viz Media:
“Nothing about Saitama passes the eyeball test when it comes to superheroes, from his lifeless expression to his bald head to his unimpressive physique. However, this average-looking guy has a not-so-average problemโhe just can’t seem to find an opponent strong enough to take on!”
The series first started as an ongoing web-comic by the author that goes by One, in early 2009. The comic went viral and so a full remake and publication of the series began in 2012 on Shueisha’s Young Jump Web Comics website. Viz Media brought the manga to America in 2016 in the Weekly Shonen Jump digital magazine. One Punch’s anime series was created by Madhouse and first aired in Japan in late 2015, and was dubbed for English in the summer of 2016. The anime and manga both have had huge international success and recognition since release, winning New York Times Manga‘s Best Sellers List, was nominated for an Eisner Award, and the anime was also featured on the popular Toonami block.
