When it comes to Marvel Comics, there are few heroes who are as popular as Spider-Man. The enduring superhero has become one of the company's favorite characters after he was introduced as a teenage vigilante. Over the years, Spider-Man has racked up an impressive run of comics, and one of the hero's most recent runs saw Peter Parker team up with the entire Spider-Verse. Japan finally got a chance to read up on the story last May, and fans were stunned by the collection's colorful artwork. For that, we have the illustrator of One-Punch Man to thank.

Yusuke Murata was the man behind the cover artwork for Dan Slott's 'Spider-Verse' arc when the run made its way to Japan. The artist, who is pens art for the One-Punch Man manga, was asked to bring characters like Peter Parker, Miles Morales, and more to life for Japanese fans. Recenetly, fans were reintroduced to the stunning artwork after Murata shared images of last year's work on Twitter, and one of those pieces just happens to feature Peter Parker taking on Doctor Octopus.

Clearly, this artwork is not Murata's first time inking superheroes. The artist is known for working on the One-Punch Man which got its start back in June 2012 following its webcomic debut. The illustrator teamed up with creator One to remake the series, and Murata's artwork has become a staple for the series. His designs helped influence the One-Punch Man anime series, and fans continue to look forward to his work on its manga.

Murata also did a slew of other Spider-Man pieces for the Marvel collection. His sleek, pointed art style complimented the various iterations of Spider-Man introduced in the comic run, and fans were quick to praise his covers. In fact, a slew of fans took to the Internet to request Murata tackle a full Spider-Man story, but it looks like the artist will have his plate full this year.

In 2017, One-Punch Man is poised to become more popular than ever. Not only is the franchise still running as a web comic, but One-Punch Man continues to debut new manga chapters thanks to Murata. And, of course, the beloved series will debut the second season of its wildly popular anime. A new season was confirmed last year and is expected to debut sometime in 2017.

So, what do you think? Does Murata have an eye for Marvel characters in particular? Saitama may be a bit jealous of the Queen's hero, so do you think the superhero might challenge the web-crawling vigilante to a fight?
