Many authors have unreleased work published after they die, but typically for authors known for novels, poetry, plays, etc., it's more of the same. That's certainly not the case with American author Flannery O'Connor. Known for her novels Wise Blood, and The Violent Bear it Away as well as her famous short stories "A Good Man is Hard to Find" and "The Life you Save May be Your Own", the deceased author, who passed away in 1964 at age 39 due to lupus, will have her drawings and such put into a collection by Fantagraphics!
Flannery O'Connor: The Cartoons will be released this December and chronicles an active period in the author's life when she was drawing for her high school and college publications in the 1940s. Her work typically chronicles the humor of student life and impact of World War II on the home front, but various aspects of her work in both pen and ink and linoleum cuts will be featured. At 120 pages, there's plenty of material for readers of her fiction work and those who are discovering her for the first time to be impressed by! Pre-orders are available now, so go ahead and reserve your copy, and why not pick up some copies of her fiction while you're at it!
