With a Forbes headline that says it will "turn you into a true believer" and an MTV Splash Page post that cries, "Man, were we wrong!" to doubt the film after a ponderous and disappointing first tease months ago, one has to ask--has today's impressive trailer silenced many of the film's critics? Response to the trailer has been largely positive, with an MTV Splash Page poll showing almost 75% of respondents (72.73% as of this writing) reflecting the most positive response possible, and more than 90% "likes" over "dislikes" on YouTube and the movie trending on Twitter for most of the day. With Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield transforming from static images into footage, you can get much more of a sense for what they plan to do with the characters and while Stone doesn't seem to have a ton to work with, fans and critics seem to like what they see from Garfield. And for the mainstream audience, who don't even know Gwen Stacy exists, it will likely be Spider-Man and not his supporting cast who sells the film. Check out the trailer and let us know: Has it won you over?
