ReedPOP, the organizers of the New York Comic Con and the Chicago Comic and Entertainment Expo (C2E2), announced today that Charlaine Harris, author of the Sookie Stackhouse series of vampire novels and co-creator of True Blood, the hit HBO series based on those characters, ill appear at C2E2 in April as a spotlight guest. With an ongoing, monthly comic book series coming soon from IDW Publishing and a popular series Grave Sight having just recently wrapped, it seems likely that Harris will need to get used to appearing at comic book conventions. Rachel Caine, Christina Henry, Mari Mancusi, Chloe Neill, and Veronica Wolff will join Harris as featured authors who, according to ReedPOP's release, will participate not only in signing appearances but also panels and other convention activities at the McCormick Place Convention Center. Each of them is responsible for a number of science fiction, fantasy or young adult fiction books, usually revolving around vampires. Caine does the Vampire Season series, Henry is responsible for Black Wings, Neil writes the Chicagoland Vampires and Wolff created The Watchers. "Charlaine Harris and all these literary guests are a fantastic addition to our developing list of major talent who will be appearing at C2E2," said Lance Fensterman, Group Vice President for ReedPOP and Show Manager for C2E2, in their release.  "Their participation is further evidence that the pop culture world cuts across all entertainment boundaries and includes artists from every walk of life.  I know these writers will be well-received at our show and will find legions of fans anxious to hear them speak and meet them in person."
