Dark Knight Rises Commercial Shows Basketball And Rioting

Kind of an interesting new commercial is airing for The Dark Knight Rises on ESPN. The commercial splices together images from The Dark Knight Rises with action-packed moments from NBA basketball games. One element of the commercial plays the rising up theme of The Dark Knight Rises into players rising up to the challenge of the NBA playoffs. However, the commercial also flips between scenes of NBA players making baskets and riot scenes and exploding vehicles from the Dark Knight Rises. Police engaged in a riot with an angry mob and images of burning cars seems like an unusual choice of imagery to combine together in a commercial for a major sporting event…just saying. The NBA playoffs are currently underway, while the Dark Knight Rises premieres in movie theaters on July 20, 2012.
