Joseph Gordon-Levitt to host SNL

NBC has announced three upcoming hosts for the new season of Saturday Night Live. Of primary interest to comic book fans, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, who played John Blake in The Dark Knight Rises, will be hosting Saturday Night Live on September 12, 2012. This will actually be Joseph Gordon-Levitt's second time hosting Saturday Night Live, as he hosted the show way back on November 21, 2009. Given the September 22 hosting date, it's likely that Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be hosting in order to promote Looper, which is scheduled to be released on September 28, 2012. However, given that Joseph Gordon-Levitt's biggest hit movie of the summer was The Dark Knight Rises, it will be surprising if SNL doesn't have a Batman sketch or two. Could we finally see Joseph Gordon-Levitt in full Robin costume? There's no way that SNL will miss out on the opportunity to do something related to Batman, which would make for a great viral video. Joining Joseph Gordon-Levitt will be musical guest Mumford & Sons. Other SNL hosts announced by NBC were Seth MacFarlane and Daniel Craig. Seth MacFarlane will be hosting on September 15, 2012, while Daniel Craig will be hosting on October 6, 2012. Craig will likely be promoting the new James Bond movie Skyfall, which is scheduled to be released on November 9, 2012.
