Star Wars Episode 7 Pre-Production

Ever since Disney announced plans for Star Wars Episode 7, fans have been starved for new information.  Pretty much the only thing in the way of official news has been an announcement that Michael Arndt will write the screenplay. There has been rampant speculation about who the director is, but no official announcement. And it looks like the director announcement probably won't be coming this month. Lucasfilm President Kathleen Kennedy told ABC News Radio, "I have no immediate update, but hopefully in January I'll have something that I can say." We're hoping that something is a director announcement. However, Kathleen Kennedy did offer one tidbit of information. She revealed that work was already under way on the script and that pre-production would begin sometime in spring 2013. Of course, when Michael Arndt was announced as screenwriter it was stated that pre-production was beginning, but we're assuming the pre-production that Kennedy is referring to in spring will be the beginning of set construction.
