New Harbinger Movie Script in the Works for Brett Ratner

Valiant Entertainment is bringing screenwriter Stephen Susco in to rescue its stalled Harbinger film adaptation with an eye toward developing it for X-Men: The Last Stand director Brett Ratner, according to Variety. After running into problems at Paramount, which were reportedly somehow related to a legal mess leftover from the Paramount/Fox/Warner Bros. Watchmen lawsuits, Valiant decided to try and fund the movie itself, and are doing so with the help of a private equity firm headed up by former Marvel CEO and vice chairman Peter Cuneo. Alexandra Milchan will produce with Jay Stern along with Valiant Entertainment Group CEO Jason Kothari and chief creative officer Dinesh Shamdasani. Susco most recently wrote Texas Chainsaw 3D.
