Numerous sources are reporting that Jason Momoa, who played Conan the Barbarian in the character's most recent film outing and has also appeared on Game of Thrones, has tested for the role of Drax the Destroyer in Marvel Studios' Guardians of the Galaxy. A report earlier today came from Latino Review, who said that he had the job, but The Hollywood Reporter's Borys Kit tweeted shortly afterwards, "Clarity Alert: My sources are telling me Jason Momoa TESTED for Drax the Destroyer/GUARDIANS OF THE GALAXY but at this time has NO offer." Given Latino Review's propensity for breaking big Marvel Studios stories, and Marvel's general displeasure at not being able to break them on their own timetable, it doesn't seem outside of the realm of possibility that the THR source is as close to official as you can get. Latino Review also suggests that Isiah Mustafa, Dave Bautista, and Brian Patrick tested for the role.
