Last night, Comicbook.com reported on some comments that Warner Bros. President Jeff Robinov made in Entertainment Weekly's Summer Movie Preview Issue that indicated Man of Steel would lay the groundwork for a Justice League movie. Now, EW has revealed some additional comments from Jeff Robinov, which hint that a Justice League movie announcement could be coming in just a few weeks. Jeff Robinov said, "We'll announce something in the next several weeks that will hopefully position the DC characters and the movies we're going to be making." So when will that announcement happen? Obviously, Warner Bros. probably wants to wait until they see how Man of Steel does at the box office. But assuming that Man of Steel is the runaway success most are expecting, then could there be a major announcement made at San Diego Comic Con in July? While teasing more DC Comics movies, Jeff Robinov did put an end to one rumor. As far as the rumor that Christopher Nolan would direct a Justice League movie and bring Christian Bale with him, Jeff Rovinov stated that it was not true. Christopher Nolan's reps also confirmed to EW that it was not true and that he was busy working on Interstellar. However, another comment made by Robinov is less clear cut. When asked if Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy stands entirely alone, Robinov said, "They do. Or they did." That statement could be read a lot of different ways. It could be read that while it's not true that Christopher Nolan is returning, there might still be a possibility that either Christian Bale or Joseph Gordon-Levitt will play the Batman role in a Justice League movie. However, EW ultimately suggests Robinov's comments likely just meant that Batman would be rebooted into this new universe where he wouldn't be a standalone character any more.
