Dylan Sprayberry, who stars as the 13-year-old Clark Kent we've seen emoting along with Kevin Costner in the trailers for Man of Steel, hasn't been a fixture in Hollywood nearly as long as many of his co-stars. In fact, prior to this his most notable performances have been a guest spot on Glee and minor roles in things like Old Dogs and the never-aired American pilot for Spaced. He is, however, a big Superman fan--and was excited as all get out to be at the Man of Steel World Premiere in New York yesterday. Sprayberry spoke with ComicBook.com on the black carpet before the screening began. How excited are you to be here tonight? It's very exciting. This is my first time in New York in general, so it's great to be here and it's a great way to really kick off.

(L-r) KEVIN COSTNER as Jonathan Kent and DYLAN SPRAYBERRY as Clark Kent (13 years) in Warner Bros. Pictures’ and Legendary Pictures’ action adventure “MAN OF STEEL,” a Warner Bros. Pictures release.

Were you a Superman fan growing up? I am a Superman fan. Of course I was! Every kid is a fan--of course I was! Every kid is a fan of Superman. I, like any other kid, would jump around the couch with a cape on my back, a little towel, you know? I tried to make my own suits and I would actually get really creative with that. And I write comics all the time--I still do, I have a very nice collection of comics and action figures and I guess anything that has to do with Superman and superheroes in general. What do you think of the Man of Steel costume, then? I think it's a great change. It's really good that they did this because we're in 2013 now and, you know, things have changed a lot. Now that you've been Clark, is there any chance you're champing at the big for your opportunity to one day audition for Superman? I've definitely thought about it. You know, my mom asks, and my friends, "Are you going to play Superman, you know, the 'real' Superman, when you get older? And I'm like, that would be great--but I think obviously Henry will have his run before I ever do. But that would be great, I would love it.
