While many of the characters on AMC's The Walking Dead TV series have their origins in The Walking Dead comic book series, Norman Reedus' character Daryl Dixon was one of the few characters created just especially for the TV series. With Daryl Dixon essentially becoming the most popular character on the TV series, many fans have wondered if Robert Kirkman will ever introduce him in the comic book series. After all, it would probably be a good way to sell a lot of comic books. In the past, Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman has indicated that he has considered putting Daryl Dixon in the comic book series. During The Walking Dead 10th Anniversary Panel at the 2013 San Diego Comic-Con International, Kirkman once again faced questions on whether Daryl Dixon would ever make the leap into comic books, and it appears that Robert Kirkman has made up his mind. Unfortunately, the answer is "no." Robert Kirkman said, "I have thought about it, but in the end, I like the fact that there are only certain characters you can do in different mediums." Kirkman went on to explain that just like Daryl won't make it into the comic book series, there are also comic characters that will never make it onto the show. Kirkman likes that there are different things in different mediums, which is what makes it fun when he's in the writer's room for the TV show.
