Of all the Marvel Comics characters that have ever been adapted to television, the Hulk has been the most successful. The Incredible Hulk TV series ran from 1978 to 1982, and the show was a ratings success during most of its run.Back in 2010, word surfaced that director Guillermo Del Toro was working on a new Hulk TV series. However, very little news has been heard since the announcement with Guillermo indicating Marvel had put the project on hold.During 2013 San Diego Comic-Con, MTV asked Head of Marvel TV Jeph Loeb for an update on the Hulk TV series. Jeph Loeb said officially the series was “on pause.” He also said, “the world of TV is about timing,” and indicated that Marvel needed to wait for the right time, the right project, right place.Given that Guillermo Del Toro is a very popular and in demand movie director, why would Marvel put a Hulk television project involving him on hold? Our guess is that the Hulk proved to be so popular in The Avengers that it gave Marvel thoughts about taking another go at a Hulk movie, which might be what Loeb meant by right place.
