Star Wars Episode 7 Summer 2015

J.J. Abrams and the other filmmakers behind Disney's Star Wars Episode VII are reportedly considering Zac Efron and Ryan Gosling for major roles in 2015's most-anticipated movie, reports Latino Review. The rumor site contends that the film, which reportedly takes place thirty years after the events of Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi, was originally courting Leonardo DiCaprio, but that he's out and that Efron and Gosling are the current names on the agenda. "As for what role Efron would be playing, we don't know. He could be a Solo kid. But what I was told for sure is the Gosling went in for Skywalker's son. Yes, that's right Luke's kid," wrote LR's Kellvin Chavez. The site also claims that contrary to rumors that have been making the rounds, it's unlikely we'll see Abrams direct Star Trek 3 anytime soon; real progress is expected to begin on Star Wars next month or so, and it's unlikely Abrams will break away to make Trek, so unless Paramount wants to wait until after Star Wars Episode VII is finished, Abrams is unlikely to direct the next installment. Latino Review also say it's likely he'll only do one Star Wars movie before moving on. While some casting sides hit the Internet a while back, little is concretely and officially known about the film, except that Abrams will not bring his regular musical crew on board and will instead likely work with John Williams. It will shoot in the U.K. Star Trek helmer J.J. Abrams will direct the movie, which is due in theaters in 2015. It will face stiff competition that year from both Batman vs. Superman and Avengers: Age of Ultron.
