Paramount Pictures has once again pushed back the release date for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The film was originally supposed to be released on December 25, 2013. However, production was delayed, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles was pushed back to June 6, 2014.
Even though filming has reportedly completed, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles has once again been pushed back. Instead of June 6, 2014, the film will now be released on August 8, 2014.
Why the change? Paramount Pictures is scheduled to release Transformers 4 on June 27, 2014, and the studio likely wanted to provide more separation between what should be their two of their biggest movies of the summer.
Besides initially sharing a June release date, there is something else that the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles movie and Transformers 4 have in common. Michael Bay is involved in both movies. He's a director on Transformers 4, and a producer on Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles.
With the new release date, Teenage Mutant Turtles will be going up against Gary Shore's Dracula. It will also be one week after Marvel Studios Guardians Of The Galaxy is released.
