Lionsgate announced today that Julianne Moore, the four-time Academy Award nominee Julianne Moore will join the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Part 1 and 2 and as President Alma Coin, the leader of the rebellion against the Capitol. Moore will star opposite Academy Award winner Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson and Liam Hemsworth in the third and fourth installments of the franchise based on Suzanne Collins's trilogy of young adult novels. The two films will be shot back to back for a 2014 and then 2015 release. The Hunger Games: Catching Fire is set to hit theaters this fall. Back in June, rumors started to fly that Moore was in talks; apparently it took a while to finalize, perhaps because she's working on three other movies while promoting the upcoming remake of Carrie in which she plays the title character's emotionally-abusive mother.
