Family Guy's Peter Griffin kills himself

Two weeks ago on Family Guy, the family dog Brian Griffin was struck by a car and killed. On tonight's episode of Family Guy, it appears as if Peter Griffin might have killed himself. In the episode, Peter and Quagmire rise to fame as a singing duo. Peter and Quagmire have a falling out, and Peter returns home to be with his family. However, Quagmire eventually shows up at the Griffin's house as well, telling Peter that all the success would mean nothing if he lost his best friend. When Lois tells Peter that she's glad to have him back, Peter says, "I am glad to be here, because everyone knows that life after being famous is even better than it was before. Let me just grab my stuff off the bus." However, when Peter goes onto the bus, he appears to commit suicide. There is flash of a light on the bus, and the shadows on the bus show Peter shooting himself in the head. The whole scene happened very quickly and it left many viewers confused on if it was just a gag or if Peter Griffin is now dead as well. Many viewers turned to Twitter asking if Peter Griffin really just killed himself on the episode. Peter Griffin is listed in the description for next week's "Christmas Guy" episode, but it's always  possible that description is part of throwing viewers off. Brian Griffin was listed on the character list for this week's "Into Harmony's Way" episode, even though he did not appear. Could Seth MacFarlane be killing off all the Family Guy characters one by one?
