The Mandarin Spreads his wings

Ever since the title to one of the bonus features on the Thor: The Dark World Blu-Ray was revealed to be "All Hail The King," many news sites have been speculating that it will focus on Loki. Spoiler Warning: It's a logical guess considering how Thor: The Dark World ended with Loki having secretly replaces Odin as King of Asgard. However, when Comicbook.com reported the news, our suspicion was that the Marvel One-Shot film would focus on Ben Kingsley's character The Mandarin (who was really Trevor Slattery). We based this speculation on a number of things. Of course, Kingsley has King in his last name, and his character Trevor Slattery's King Lear was the talk of Croydon. However, our biggest clue was that we discovered that "All Hail The King" was filmed in August and September 2013, which was right before Ben Kingsley revealed that he had just completed another project for Marvel. Now, we have an even better clue that "All Hail The King" will indeed revolve around the events of Iron Man 3. Drew Pearce, who wrote the screenplay for Iron Man 3, just tweeted, "Belated happy new year, people. Oh, and #AllHailTheKing." Now, the question is whether "All Hail The King" will be sort of a joke short film about the life and times of Trevor Slattery or if it will be more serious and possible introduce the real Mandarin.
