Batman: Arkham Origins DLC Cold, Cold Heart Trailer Released

The latest episode of DC All Access revealed the first trailer for "Cold, Cold Heart," the new storyline DLC for Batman: Arkham Origins. The DLC will focus on Mr. Freeze, telling his origin and the story of how he first encountered Batman in the Arkham video game universe. Ames Kirshen, Vice President of Production at WB Games, described the DLC as an additional "mini-chapter" for Arkham Origins, with much more narrative focus than the previous DLC. "This is…in-game, mission, story content," Kirshen says, "with brand new story content wrapped around Mr. Freeze in the Arkham Origins setting." Kirshen also revealed that Batman will have to upgrade his suit in order to deal with Freeze's cryogenic weapons, which Batman will be encountering for the first time. The new suit will alter gameplay and help Batman survive against these new enemies and extreme conditions. The boss battle with Mr. Freeze in Arkham City is considered by many to be one of the gameplay highlights of the Arkham series so far. That boss battle inspired the design of the boss battles in Arkham Origins, which were some of the most standout moments of the game. It will be interesting to see if the new DLC lives up to those high standards. "Cold, Cold Heart" will be released April 22, 2014.
