James Gunn to Write and Direct Guardians of the Galaxy Sequel

Guardians of the Galaxy co-writer Nicole Perlman seems pretty certain that Guardians of the Galaxy 2 will happen, saying in a newly-released interview that James Gunn is set to write and direct it.

"James will be directing Guardians 2," she told TheWrap, "so he would also be writing Guardians 2."

"They started to figure it out pretty quick when they started getting the reactions from the audience; it was a very positive reaction," Perlman said. "Of course they would want to make a sequel as long as it does well and people are excited about it, they'll wanna do a sequel. So, it's going to happen."

The notion that Gunn would write and direct any prospective sequel is far from surprising; he's been open about that for months and Marvel seems very high on his work in the first film.
