According to Slashfilm, the forthcoming Harry Potter spinoff franchise Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, which will star Eddie Redmayne as Newt Scamander, will likely feature a new school of Witchcraft and Wizardry — this one located in the United States.

They spotted a Twitter exchange between author and screenwriter J.K. Rowling and one of her fans, in which she was asked about an American school. She stopped short of saying that it would appear in the film, telling fans that things would be revealed in due course.
Later, when she was asked more specifically about a New York-based school, she responded:

Rowling (@jk_rowling) June 6, 2015Rowling later suggested that revealing the name of the school would inherently reveal too much, including its location, but the nature of the conversation felt to many like a confirmation of a U.S. school, and likely one that would appear in the forthcoming first installment of the Fantastic Beasts franchise.
Reports have said that the film will take place in New York in the 1920s and follow Scamander, who wrote the titular textbook seen seventy years later at Hogwart’s. Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them will be directed by Potter-alum David Yates and will be in theaters on November 18, 2016.
