While so far, Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen have done very little to ugly up J. August Richards’s pretty face for Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., on which he plays the cyborg called Deathlok, a new promotional image shows what an x-ray-type image that shows fans a more familiar take on Deathlok. It’s the second “Deathlok vs. S.H.I.E.L.D.” poster, and there have been a number more Deathlok images besides those, but this is the first time that the character has particularly looked like his comic book counterpart, something that has raised some hackles among hardcore fans. The “guy in a vest with a few metal bits here and there” design has been evoking a lot of Lazer Tag references, for instance, on ComicBook.com’s Facebook page.
