Despite the fact that the game doesn’t officially release to the public until tomorrow, some players have already reached the ending of The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game.The ending has been posted online, along with an after-the-credits scene featuring the Kingpin and a surprise Spider-Man villain.Spoilers for the The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game follows.Once Again.SPOILER WARNING.SPOILER WARNING.The game’s final boss battle is against Carnage. In the game’s ending, Peter Parker goes to a comic shop to talk to the proprietor, none other than Spider-Man’s co-creator Stan Lee. Presumably Lee is established throughout the game because the two seem to know each other and Lee knew Uncle Ben. Peter expresses the regret he feels at being at least partly responsible for Uncle Ben’s death. Lee reassures Peter than Uncle Ben lived a good life and that he should be remembered for how he lived rather than how he died.In the after-the-credits scene, we see the Kingpin on the phone with the mayor. It’s hard to understand all the details without having played through the game’s plot, but it seems that the Kingpin has been playing both sides of the war on crime, giving funds to a special crime-fighting task force while also continuing in his role as Kingpin of Crime. As the Kingpin’s phone conversation come to an end, a man walks in the room and approaches a shelf full of false-faces. The man takes off his face and is revealed to be Chameleon.It’s hard to ascertain Chameleon’s exact role in the game without having played it, but it appears he’s been in disguise as an agent of the Kignpin working both sides of city, perhaps even posing as an ally to Spider-Man. The scene ends with the Kingpin saying that the real work is about the begin, suggesting the game’s story will be continued in a future The Amazing Spider-Man 3 video game.The Amazing Spider-Man 2 video game will be released April 29, 2014.
