Through all six seasons, Andrew Lincoln has managed not to watch a single episode of The Walking Dead (which is fine, because the other 16 million of us will hold up the ratings without him).

The British actor doesn’t watch anything he is featured in. It’s nothing against The Walking Dead. In fact, it goes all the way back to some of his earliest movies.

“I haven’t watched myself for 15 years, because I don’t enjoy it,” Lincoln tells The Guardian. “There’s a lot of working parts that can change your performance in between you giving it and it going out. I just realised I’d prefer to have my own imagination about what the story is.”

Whether or not he reads Internet articles about himself is another story, one which remains a mystery. But just in case, here’s a message for him: Keep up whatever you’re doing Andrew. It’s working.

The Walking Dead airs Sundays at 9 PM ET on AMC.
