It’s a good time to be James Gunn. The Guardians of the Galaxy director is riding high on Guardians of the Galaxy being the biggest hit this year at the domestic box office, and the film is continuing to climb in the international markets.
Unlike some of the movies ahead of the film on the worldwide charts, Guardians of the Galaxy did not open in all the large International markets at once. Guardians of the Galaxy just opened in Japan this weekend, the film has yet to open in China or Italy.

As part of celebrating the Japanese opening of Guardians of the Galaxy, Gunn shared a Japanese Guardians of the Galaxy poster on Facebook. He also shared a video of an animatronic Japanese Rocket answering reporter’s questions, which he admitted “a little bit freaks” him out.
It’ not difficult to see why the animatronic Japanese Rocket freaks him out, as Rocket at one point seems to get angry and at another point lets out a freakish laugh.
Guardians of the Galaxy 2 is scheduled to be released in movie theaters on July 28, 2017.
