Though their only evidence is a digital photo of what appears to be a Word document on a monitor, and therefore couldn’t really be any easier to fake, the Jurassic World fansite may have some early information on some exciting tie-ins for next summer’s dino-sized blockbuster. They’re citing cog-shaped sources in the Toys R Us machine in claiming that Jurassic World Lego sets have been “confirmed” while “negotitations” have taken place for a Jurassic World Lego videogame.

There have been Jurassic Park-inspired but not licensed sets before. It will be interesting to see how the new kits up the ante. And, hey, while Chris Pratt is certainly no stranger to manifestation as a minifig, it’s pretty cool to think Bryce Dallas Howard will be getting an inch-high makeover. Perfect for my Lady in the Water, The Village and Manderlay dioramas, right?

There are various other bits of verisimilitude in the original report that make it all seem quite realistic, especially the cross-promotional possibilities that will include both Jurassic World and Universal’s other blockbuster dead-cert for next summer, the Minions spin-off from Despicable Me.

If there was any doubt, the alleged leak also states that Jurassic World is being made with a PG-13 rating in mind. Also utterly predictable are the various sponsorship deals with soft drink, breakfast cereal, car and consumer electronics manufacturers. That’s how Hollywood goes round, these days – and I dare say there’s an evens-or-better chance that well be seeing these sponsors’ products pop up in the film too.

Jurassic World is set for a US release on June 12th next year. If we believe this report, the DVD and Blu-ray release is set for November 10th next year. Even if that’s true now, there’s still plenty of time for it to change. I think Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly have got this. I think we’re all going to be very relieved.
