Deadline reports that Law will co-star with Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.‘s Bill Paxton in the drama, which is set fifteen years after the events of the movie.
Will Beall of Gangster Squad fame, who was once rumored to be working on a Justice League script, wrote the pilot. The show centers on an idealistic young African-American police officer, Kyle Craig, is appointed to an elite squad of the Los Angeles Police Department, where he is partnered with a seasoned, morally ambiguous detective played by Paxton.
Law will play Detective Rebecca Lee, an officer with the LAPD’s Special Investigation Section (S.I.S.). She was rescued from human traffickers by Frank (Paxton) when she was 4 years old and looks up to him as the father she never had.
