The new series will see the Inhumans recruiting new members from other established Marvel teams, with the Fantastic Four’s Human Torch and the X-Men’s Beast entering the fold. While details are being kept under wraps, something “mysterious” is said to have happened between mutants in Inhumans during the 8-month gap between the events of Secret Wars and where All-New, All-Different Marvel picks up. Whatever that mysterious event is, it leads to Hank McCoy and Johnny Storm allying with the Inhuman Royal Family.
With the Inhumans movie slated for 2019, and the idea of the Inhumans already appearing on TV as part of Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.,Marvel is making a concentrated effort to raise the group’s profile.
“Kind of like what we did with Guardians, and are doing with Doctor Strange โ once we make this movie announcement, we wanted to come out of the gate swingin’,” said Charles Soule.
Uncanny Inhumans #1 will release in October.
