Blair Underwood will reprise his role as Dr. Andrew Garner in the multiple episodes of the third season of Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., according to Variety.

Underwood’s Garner is the ex-husband of Ming Na-Wen’s Agent Melinda May, though they seemed to be on the cusp of reconciliation by the end of Season 2. Garner worked as a psychologist for S.H.I.E.L.D. prior to the Hydra uprising, and aided May and Director Coulson (Clark Gregg) in evaluating Skye (Chloe Bennet) after she underwent terrigenesis.
In addition to Underwood, Season 2 recurring guest stars Luke Mitchell and Henry Simmons were promoted to series regulars for Season 3, and will reprise their roles as Lincoln and Mack, respectively.
Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. Season 3 premieres Sept. 29 on ABC.
