There are some premises and ideas that seem destined for unlimited success on paper, but for some reason or another never seem to break through. That label could easily be applied to Bucky O’Hare, but the good news is the property will be making a comeback thanks to Boss Fight Studio.

Boss Fight Studio announced on their Facebook that they have acquired the toy license, and will be producing 4-inch plus scale collectibles of Bucky O’Hare, and each one will include extensive articulation. The lin will include O’Hare and his allies along with their constant adversaries the Toad Army, and you can expect a substantial attention to detail, as the team at Boss Fight are avid fans of the franchise, as they stated on Facebook.
“Bucky has been at the top of our list from the beginning. We’re big fans!”
The team is aiming for a November release, but there isn’t a hard date or price for the figures yet.
Bucky O’Hare was created by Larry Hama and Michael Golden, and was launched in comic form as Bucky O’Hare and the Toad Wars. The story was included in the Echo of Futurepast anthology series in 1984. Eventually, the story was published on its own and was expanded from its original 6 issue run to a 20 issue run. In 1991 it received a television series that spawned 13 episodes, which was adapted into a video game for the NES.
The show and the comic revolved around the green hare Bucky O’Hare and his S.P.A.C.E. crew’s various adventures as they attempt to take down the Toad Army who will stop at nothing to take the universe for themselves. It featured memorable characters like Major Bottlenose, Commander Dogstar, Gummer Cecil Duck, Komplex, and Blinky, and despite it’s short run on television the show managed to produce a myriad of toys and action figures.
You can learn more about Boss Fight Studio at their official website, which will also be the place to pre-order the new figures once they are revealed.
