Marvel Studios have released three new interview videos with the cast of Captain America: The Winter Soldier: Chris Evans (Captain America), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow) and Samuel L. Jackson (Nick Fury).Between the Jackson and Evans interviews, the two actors discuss the differing morality and world views that cause conflict between Nick Fury and Steve Rogers.”Steve has this old fashioned idea,” said Jackson, “about what freedom is and what it means in terms of who we are as a nation and a people. There is a line that he’s not willing to cross, and Nick has evolved from that. I’m sure he had that ideal at one point when he was that other patriot, and over the years he’s developed this whole other thing where he’s come into the thought that we don’t’ need to just protect ourselves from the enemy without, but the enemy within.””I think, once upon a time, maybe Nick Fury and Black Widow did operate the way Cap behaves,” said Evans, “and believes you can stand by your morals and values and get things done. Unfortunately, the world doesn’t always play by those rules and I think, over time, greater good is served by bending the rules a little bit, because if they’re not going to play by the rules, and you want to beat them, you may have to bend yourself a bit. It’s just a tough pill for Cap to swallow. He’s not used to that type of compromise.”In Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Steve Rogers struggles to embrace his role in the modern world and battles a new threat from old history: the Soviet agent known as the Winter Soldier.Captain America: The Winter Soldier is now playing in theaters.
