Ripa asked Fisher what fans can expect from Leia in the new Star Wars film. “Well she’s a lot older now. I’m not, she is,” Fisher said jokingly. “And so she’s had some life experiences that are complex. And I think it shows on some of the pictures they’ve released of me. That I kind of look exhausted and that will happen after forty years. You know, you get tired.”

“And when you have bad hair like that, you’re gonna look upset,” she added. “I think my new hairstyle… I like to say looks like a baboon ass. Go look at the poster, they snuck it in (banner image above). I don’t mostly wear the baboon ass hairstyle. Nothing against baboons, but they don’t make good hairstyles.”

The film stars Harrison Ford, Mark Hamill, Carrie Fisher, Adam Driver, Daisy Ridley, John Boyega, Oscar Isaac, Lupita Nyong’o, Andy Serkis, Domhnall Gleeson, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew and Max Von Sydow. Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams and Bryan Burk are producing with Tommy Harper and Jason McGatlin serving as executive producers. The screenplay is by Lawrence Kasdan & J.J. Abrams and Michael Arndt.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in U.S. theaters on December 18. The Han Solo film will arrive in theaters May 25, 2018.
