Conan O’Brien is known for his rather…unorthodox…mascots. From Minty, the Candy Cane The Briefly Fell on the Ground to the Fake NBA Mascots Who Should Never Dunk, he’s got you covered.

And now, he’s got a mascot with a cover.

That’s The Singing Comic Book, who apparently mostly sings about how he’s in mint condition and collectible. He’ll likely be a recurring feature while Conan is broadcasting from Comic Con International in San Diego next month…if he can survive the mylar.

Eagle-eyed fans will notice that the Singing Comic Book features John Byrne’s iconic cover to Fantastic Four #243, featuring a team-up between Doctor Strange, the Avengers and the Fantastic Four as they take on Galactus. While Doctor Strange has his own movie coming soon and The Avengers are going to start shooting their third soon enough, they can’t contractually cross over with the FF on screen any time soon.

In 2006, Marvel actually released a statue based on this cover.

We wonder whether the cover of the comic will change from appearance to appearance, or if O’Brien is just a huge fan of Byrne.
